Toteaway Sport designs and sells complete pickleball sets built for families — not for elite athletes. Our paddles and sets are made for players aged 5 to 75, so a grandparent, a parent and a five-year-old can play the same game, on the same afternoon, with gear that fits each of them individually. Why we started

Our founder, Agnes Fu, is a working mother. She wanted one activity that her child and her mother-in-law could enjoy at the same time — and kept running into the same two problems.

The first was equipment. Paddles were built for a single adult player. In the children's rackets available at the time, she kept measuring the same thing: shrunken adult paddles with grips over 4 inches in circumference, far too wide for a five-year-old's hands. Children drop them, get frustrated, and stop playing. Nothing on the shelf was designed for the ergonomics of a child and a grandparent at the same time.

The second was packaging. There was no straightforward way to buy the sport as a shared experience. Families had to assemble a set piece by piece, guessing which sizes and weights to combine.

So we built the thing that did not exist: a family-first set, engineered from the child's hand outward.

How we design our gear

Three decisions define everything we make.

The grip comes first. Our kids' paddle uses a true micro-grip at 3.8 inches (96 mm) — a genuine children's grip, not a shrunken adult one. Children can hold it properly, keep their wrist steady, and actually play the point.

Weight and control before power. Our adult paddles sit at 213 g and 226 g, with fiberglass faces over polypropylene honeycomb cores designed for control rather than maximum pop. Lighter, more forgiving gear is easier on senior joints and easier for new players to keep in play. Play as a complete system, not a shopping list. Our family set ships as one calibrated bundle — paddles plus outdoor and quieter indoor balls — so a household can open the box and play. No guessing, no mismatched purchases. And a paddle that gets knocked around in a car boot is a paddle that scratches, which is why we offer protective options fitting both 13 mm and 16 mm paddles. What we sell

What we are not

We are not building equipment for tournament play, and we are not chasing maximum spin or maximum power. We do not claim that our gear will improve a competitive player's rating. Our customers are households: a parent who wants their child off a screen for an hour, a grandparent who needs something gentler on the shoulder, a couple who wants a game they can play in the driveway after dinner. We build for that, deliberately and only that.

Shipping and returns in plain English

• Shipping is free on U.S. orders over $149. Orders below that threshold are charged at checkout based on destination and weight.

• Orders ship in 2–3 business days, and expedited U.S. delivery takes 2–4 business days after that.

• Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery, in resalable condition with original packaging. There is no restocking fee. If the item is defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, we cover return shipping.

• We do not offer a separate warranty. The 30-day return window is the protection you get, and we would rather state that plainly than write a warranty we cannot honour. The full terms are in returns and refunds and shipping policy.
