Our founder, Agnes, refused to accept this fractured weekend reality. As a busy mother, her highest priority was creating vibrant, shared memories with her child and her mother-in-law. She wanted to chase the sunshine, step outside, and play.
That is when she discovered Pickleball. It felt like the perfect canvas—simple rules, low impact, and instant fun. But when she looked for equipment that could bring her entire household together, she found a market that completely ignored the family.
Standard paddles were built for single adult players. The "kids' rackets" available were just heavy, shrunken adult paddles with grips far too wide (4+ inches) for a 5-year-old’s hands, leading to drops and frustration. Nothing was designed to cater to the ergonomics of a child and a grandparent simultaneously. Furthermore, there was no cohesive way to buy the sport as a shared family experience—everything had to be pieced together.
Agnes realized that if you want families to play together, you have to provide a complete, calibrated system.
She engineered a family-first paddle set from the ground up. She introduced a true micro-grip paddle (3.8 inches) perfectly tailored for small hands, paired with lightweight, high-control surfaces that are incredibly gentle on senior joints. To make the entire sport truly mobile, she bundled these specialized paddles and high-visibility balls into a signature, grab-and-go sports set.
When neighbors saw Agnes’s family effortlessly turning their driveway into an instant multi-generational court, they wanted that same seamless connection. Toteaway Sport was born.
